Competitive Football
Season 2026-27
The new season will kick-off on Sunday 6th September 2026 for competitive league games.
Fixture schedules for U12s - U16s age groups and the latest tables are published on an FAW COMET website for club staff, and on the Cymru Football App for the general public.
- U12s and U13s play competitive small sided 9v9 football.
- U14s, U15s and U16s play competitive 11v11 football
- The U13s, U14s, U15s & U16s are joint leagues wiith both Monmouthshire and Newport teams competiting.
For season 2026-2027
- The U13s and U15s league and cup competitions are run by Momouthshire Junior league.
- The U14s and U16s league and cup competitions run by Newport Junior league.

Buffer zones
SPECTATORS MUST STAY OFF THE TOUCHLINE AND OFF THE PITCH
Buffer zones are mandatory in the Monmouthshire Junior League and across Wales for both small sided football and junior competitive football. Home clubs need to ensure they are provided on both sides of the pitch for home and away supporters.
All parents, relatives and other spectators are to stay behind this buffer zone, off the touchline and off the pitch. Both clubs involved in the games need to ensure all spectators stay behind the buffer line!!
Football should be a fun, safe and positive experience for every young person involved.
