Small- Sided Football U7s - U11s

 

Small sided football is a modified version of the 11 a-side game. 

 

It gives children the chance to play real football, for a real team, whilst experiencing an enjoyable introduction to football through small-sided games

 

The Small-Sided Football Season for 2021-22 starts on Sunday 12th September 2021 within Monmouthshire.

 

 

Small Sided Football in Monmouthshire

Small Sided Football for U7s - U11s  is organised to a non-competitive formatThis means that there are:

  • NO cups or league competitions,

  • NO league tables.

  • NO recording of results,

  • NO publishing of results by leagues and clubs on websites, print media or social media

 

 In Wales the game format is as follows:

  • Under 7s: 4 v 4  (no goalkeeper & no player to stay in front of goal)

  • Under 8s & Under 9s : 5 v 5 

  • Under 10s & Under 11s: 7 v 7

 

 

Buffer zones

Buffer zones are mandatory in the Monmouthshire Junior League and across Wales for both small sided football and junior competitive football.

 

All parents, relatives and other spectators are to stay behind the buffer zone, off the touchline and off the pitch!

 

Football should be a fun, safe and positive experience for every young person involved.

Accreditation

Player registration

All players need to be registered by member clubs on the FAW Comet system before they can play organised football.
