When the season starts, fixtures, results and tables will appear on FAW Comet system for each club, and on the FAW Cymru App for parents and spectators.

• Each U16s team is to play each other home and away.  
• There is an U16s knock-out cup competition which will have 3 rounds and a final.  The draw for the cup round is yet to be made.
• Any postponed competitive league games will be rearranged by the league.
• The league will postpone games on a fixture date when an U16s Club teams have Gwent County FA U16s CUP games, and these will be rearranged by the league.
• Kick off times for U16s games are 2:00pm, If an earlier game on the same pitch is running late then these games can kick-off at 2:15pm.
• Should there be a pitch availability issue for a fixture then an earlier kick-off time can be played, subject to the agreement of both clubs and sanction from this league. 
• Every team is required to compete a roster before the season starts and on match day you will only be able to select players for team line up from that roster.
• All teams are to comply with FAW Return to Football Protocols in force at the time, which may change thoughout the season.  League Rules apply.
• U16s play 11v11 game format.

• Clubs MUST comply with FAW return to football protocols.
• There are to be NO spectators as per Welsh Government ruling.
• An age group team is only able to play against 1 other age group team.
• Clubs MUST have a Covid-19 compliance officer and have completed the online safe return to play checklist.
• Clubs MUST comply with local/national lockdown restrictions which may apply at the date/time of the game
• Clubs MUST comply with any changes to FAW guidance which may apply at the date/time of the game.
• Match Report Team Sheets must be sent by email no later than 6 days after the fixture is played or the club will be fined £10 please send to the following email address:   derekharris1927@btinternet.com
• All friendly games are to be played using the new small sided format.
• Friendly games are not mandatory.

Under 16s Friendly Match format for season 2020-21 will be as per Under 12s, and the numbers of people permitted to be involved in the match are as follows: 

9v9 game format or 7v7 game format

• 12 players per squad = 24 players across both teams
• Up to 2 coaches/first aiders/team helpers per team = 4 coaches/first aiders across both teams*
• 1 COVID-19 Compliance Officer / Operational Lead (home team)*
• 1 Referee
• TOTAL = Maximum 30 persons involved in the match

* Away team coach and/or first aider will need to double up as COVID Operational Lead for that team and ensure registers are handed to home team COVID 19 Officer or Operational Lead. This is to ensure essential match personnel remain within the 30 person limit.

• Note that if there are travel restrictions across borders then players will not be able to go into England to train or play games and players will not be allowed to come into Wales to train or play games. 

BEHIND THE LINE – Buffer zones alongside all Junior football pitches are mandatory for all games. All parents and other spectators must watch from behind the buffer zone lines

Normal kick off time for League and Cup games is 2:15pm (excluding Gwent County Cup)

Notes: Due to the size of this league the format for this season will be as follows:-

• Teams play each other once and then the league will be split into two divisions.
• Championship Division will be the top 7 teams and Development Division the bottom 6 teams  after each team has played each other once. If two teams in position 7 and 8 have the same points total, then division places will be decided on the result of the game between those two teams.
• Teams will then play the recipricol game against teams in their divisions only.
• Points accumuated in the first half of the season will be carried forward into the divisions
